Your first visit to Cardinal Orthodontics is an exciting time! It is a chance for us to get acquainted and for you to learn about different types of orthodontic treatment. When you walk in the door, you will be welcomed by our friendly receptionist.
You should plan to spend about one hour with us during your first visit. It is completely complementary and we will have plenty of time to answer any questions you may have regarding Braces or Invisalign. At this appointment, initial paperwork will be completed and we will be able to verify if you have any orthodontic insurance coverage.
Our treatment coordinator will begin by giving you a tour of our office, and taking some initial records and photographs. The diagnostic records are necessary for us to determine what orthodontic treatment is needed. We will take a panoramic x-ray to see the teeth position above and below the gumline, as well as a digital scan (this takes the place of traditional impressions and is much easier)! The digital scan will be completed with our iTero Element Scanner once most permanent teeth are present.
Once the records have been completed, the doctor will review them and do a careful examination. He will go over treatment recommendations and learn about what your goals are for your smile. The treatment coordinator will then discuss with you the different types of treatment offered (Braces or Invisalign). She will also go over length of treatment, cost, and payment arrangements. You will be given a printed copy of your treatment summary before you leave that day with all the information you went over with the doctor.
When you leave the office we want you to feel as though you have a better understanding of what orthodontic treatment options are right for you! If it fits into your schedule, we can even get you started the same day.
We are here and ready to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted! Give us a call today to get scheduled a FREE consultation in one of our convenient St. Louis locations. 314-962-6242
